Clerks III (2022)

I liked the ORIGINAL Clerks film; and this one is not hard to take. It is a pleasant hour or so of the usual Clerk’s working class humor that millions find so pleasing. However, the characters are still the same, the plot? Is still pretty much haphazardly the same, the direction is the same, and only the words have been changed to protect the innocent. The film is as predicable as Spring following Winter; not that this is a bad thing. It is just a predictable thing. When I go to films, I like to be surprised; like I was when I first the first Clerks film. Now, there are no more surprises for this film; the characters are written in stone, the “new” situations are artificial and not related to the wonderful simplicity of the original. Enjoy it for what it is; another payday for the originators.
