Noelle (2019)

Noelle (Anna Kendrick) is the energetic daughter of Santa. Who has never had much of a role with her brother Nick (Bill Hader) destined to be the next Santa. She loves Christmas when she can free download or her brother is just eh about it and not too excited about being Santa. He takes off when she recommends a weekend to himself. With everyone around blaming Noelle for his disappearance. The full movie is pretty much Arthur Christmas but with a girl which we have to watch. Kendrick does bring plenty of charm though and is pretty much a live action version of her character from Trolls. Noelle will put you in the Holiday mood probably. Even if November 12th is a bit early for a Christmas movie. A predictable but cute, Christmas movie that’s often even funny.

Much like Bill Hader’s character I also wish I was not involved with anything in this film. Most of the jokes fall flatter than its two dimensional supporting characters. The movie is set in Arizona which is fitting considering how dry and overused the cliches are. Expected a story that’s just as under-baked as its cgi. Skip this if you can and if you can’t I’m sorry for your loss of 1 hour and 40 minutes.
