I’m always excited for an Ayer flick so naturally I had high expectations for this movie. It honestly just seemed like it got rushed and didn’t get the proper Ayer touch it needed. The editing and cinematography were sloppy, the characters lacked depth, the plot was way too contrived, and it tried to overcompensate for all of those flaws with gratuitous violence. It’s entertaining, but entertaining in a B-Movie, Wal-Mart bargain bin kind of way, which isn’t what it should be.
