I was encouraged by a friend to watch Snapshots and I’m glad I did. It is touching, simple and poignant. Yet, there are deep meanings and revelations that hold your interest. The film flew and I wanted more. If you want to be uplifted, watch Snapshots. Thank you Melanie Mayron and the writers. Great cast too. Now having watched it twice- once at Out for Reel then once after I ran home and bought it to download, I am moved by the messages that run through this gentle film. There are lines from the film I can and will quote and some that I will cherish as guiding words of wisdom. The woman who plays the daughter is right on point. The cast is perfect for each part. There were some tough words said between the three main women, but in the end, love won them over. The flashbacks are heartwarming and enlightening. Who would have thought that it was hard to be gay in the 1960’s when free love was what was being said. The acting is excellent. The story isn’t one we’ve never heard, but Piper Laurie and the script make in new all over again. In my book, a winner.
