A group of slave girls are sold to a man named Timarchus (Daniele Vargas) the organizer of events in the Colosseum of the ancient Roman town of Brundusium. After a full fight breaks out among the girls, Timarchus gets the idea of putting the women in the ring to fight to the death.
The recently captured Mamawi (Pam Grier) and Bodicia (Margaret Markov) realize they must stick together if they are to survive… “The Arena” (1974) is more or less a women in prison film with elements of blaxploitation, but set in ancient Rome. What you get to watch is nudity, cat-fights, b-movie violence, poor acting, poor direction, wobbly cinematography and a script that is not that much to hang in the Christmas tree. Then again with Roger Corman as a producer I reckon you can´t expect anything else. However, you also get the cool, tough and sexy Pam Grier & Margaret Markov teamed up yet again after their success in “Black Mama, White Mama”. “The Arena” is not as “good” as “Black Mama, White Mama”, but I do love Pam Grier so anything with her will fly for me despite tons of flaws and issues. “The Arena” can´t be anything else than a cult film in my opinion. Even though the film is released in 1973, you can watch online on filmxy.
Trivia: The movie was shot in Italy at Rome’s Cincecitta studios in 1973. Both Pam Grier and Margaret Markov did all of their own fights and stunts. The weapons used in the fight scenes were real. Fortunately, you can free download the movie and nobody got hurt during the filming of the fight scenes.

"Angel Has Fallen" is an all-out action film and it doesn't try to be anything else, I feel that's a part of its charm, everything nowadays is politicized even dramas, why can't we have an old fashion solo gun-wielding hero that always comes up on top, This film is reminiscing of that and that's exactly why it just works.All of that combined with a strong cast led by two great actors spells out good entertainment from the discovering the leads build-up to the flawless action sequences.A solid thriller packed with action, that pretty much sums up the whole thing.

Joker is a mix of drama, thriller, comedy, and madness, a masterpiece that lives on Todd Phillips' vision and Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal. An original film that fills today's cinema gap without steroids or fantasy and will forever mark the adaptations of comics. To see, chew, digest and review over and over again.
